Install the front output shafts (on the mobile lifting table)

If the driven shaft is reused, the circlip must be replaced.

Extreme force being required during installation is an indication that the component is damaged or deformed. Check component and replace if necessary.

- Check the gearing of the output shaft for damage and replace damaged parts if necessary.
- Check the bellows for damage and replace damaged parts as needed.
- Replace the circlip (1).

- Coat the contact surfaces (2) using approved rear differential fluid.NOTE: The illustration shows the procedure on the front axle differential. The procedure on the bearing bracket is identical.
- Fold open the assembly protection ring (1).
- Loosen screws (2).
- Remove the swivel bearing mount (1) and set it aside.
- Suspend the swivel bearing from the workshop crane 2 220 718.
- Tilt the swivel bearing (2) slightly forward in the arrow direction.
- Insert the output shaft (3) into the front axle differential all the way to the stop until you feel the output shaft snap-in.
- Tighten screw (1) with the special tool 0 490 504 (00 9120). TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Replace collar screw and spring.Snug torque 210 Nm Angle of rotation 90° - Pull on the tab of the installation protection ring (1) until one of the two predetermined breaking points breaks.
- Pull out and dispose of the installation protection ring (1).
- Push the output shaft (2) up to the stop in the front axle differential or the bearing bracket.
The output shaft (2) must snap in noticeably and audibly.
- Install the stand (2) of the swivel bearing (3).
- Tighten down screws (1).
- Position the anti-roll bar link (2) on the spring strut.
- Replace nut (1).

Replace nut.tightening torque 56 Nm
