Removing the front side headlining

Precondition

Battery charger connected.

NOTE: First perform steps completely on the left side. Then perform the identical steps on the right side.

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

CAUTION: Folding up of convertible top through loss of pressure in hydraulic cylinders.
Injury hazard! Injury hazard by trapping!

When carrying out all repair work, secure soft top and soft top compartment lid with a suitable support tool against collapsing. Ensure soft top is supported in the middle.

Bring the convertible top (1) in the half opened position.
Secure the convertible top (1) from collapsing by using the support 2 452 010 if necessary.
Loosen screws (1).
Unclip the ball head (2).

Release blind rivet (1).
Guide out the tension cable (2).

Release blind rivet (1).
Guide the tension cable (2) out of the guide (3).
Remove retaining strap (4).

Release the Jetpress plastic rivet (1).
Guide the tension cable (2) out of the guides (3).

Feed out the tension cable (1) further in arrow direction from the guides on the convertible top bow (2).

Unhook the tension cable (1) on the convertible top bow (2).

Unhook the side section (1) of the headlining at the detent (2) in arrow direction and feed it out from the convertible top rod (3).

Release screws (1) and remove headlining (2).
