Installing the radial shaft seal of the actuator shaft

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The radial shaft seal must be installed using the special tool (assembly sleeve), as the radial shaft seal can otherwise be damaged.

- Slide the special tool (assembly sleeve) 0 490 746 (11 1 380) onto the actuator shaft .
- Replace radial shaft seal (1).
Parts: Radial shaft seal
- Slide the radial shaft seal (1) with the special tool (assembly sleeve) 0 490 746 (11 1 380) onto the actuator shaft.
- Drive the radial shaft seal to the stop using the special tool 0 490 724 (11 1 200) and a plastic hammer.
- Remove the special tool (assembly sleeve) 0 490 746 (11 1 380) .
- Align the drive shaft (1) from the control unit to the input flange (2) on the transmission.
- When installing, slightly turn the transfer box control unit until the drive shaft noticeably snaps in the drive flange.
- Carefully install the VTG control unit (2).
- Attach and tighten the screws (1).
TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

- Connect the connector (1) with the VTG control unit.
