TECHNICAL INFORMATION
To avoid damage to the steering shaft and its bearing, the rack must be positioned in the steering gear as far as possible.

The following steps are only required for work on the right-hand track rod.
- Determine the dimension (A) on the special tool 0 496 483 (32 3 220) and increase to 30 mm .
- After use, protect special tool 0 496 483 (32 3 220) against corrosion.
- Release the tie rod (1) with the special tool 0 496 483 (32 3 220) and remove .
