Install all valve springs

- The use of the specified special tool (tool) is mandatory.
- Carry out the described steps properly.
NOTE:
The description is provided only at one component. The procedure is the same for all other components.
- Note the installation position of the valve spring.
NOTE:
Install the valve spring so that the larger diameter (Y) points to the bottom spring plate.
- Make sure that the intake valves are not switched with the exhaust valves.
NOTE:
Valve springs (1) are marked in color (2). Color for the intake valves: Yellow/Light blue

- Install valve spring (2) and the spring plate (1).
NOTE:

Wear safety goggles.

- Press down the valve spring (1) on the spring plate at top in arrow direction with the special tool 0 496 143 (11 8 840) .
- Use hook (2) to keep valve spring (1) pressed down

- Position the valve shims (1) on the valve (2).
- Press down the valve spring (1) on the spring plate at top in arrow direction with the special tool 0 496 143 (11 8 840) .
- Feed out the hook (2) and set it aside.
- Relieve valve spring (1) carefully

- Make sure the valve shims (1) are correctly positioned on the valve (2) and the valve spring (3).
