Installing the left and right tail lights on the tailgate

NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
Install the tail light on the trunk lid
- If necessary, insert convertible top brace (1) into the tailgate from the outside and position it with guides (2).
Check
- Check seal (1) and threaded bolt (2) of the tail light for damage.
Result
» Seal (1) is damaged.
Measure
- Replace gasket.
Result
» Threaded bolt (2) is damaged.
Measure
- Replace tail light.
- Insert and position tail light (4) in the tailgate. Guide tail light (4) under the sealing lip of trim (5) and into clamping claw (3).
- Tighten nut (2) with clamping claw (3).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Tail light at trunk lid Clamping claw tightening torque 2.6 Nm - Connect connectors (1) and lock.
