Installing transmission cross member

• Install the transmission cross member (2).
• Tighten down screws (1).

• Release the luggage strap (1) from the transmission.
• Remove the special tools  0 495 498 (23 4 050)  and  2 219 012  from the transmission.

• Version A: 

  Replace the screw (1).

  Parts:  Screw

  Tighten down screw (1).

  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
  
  

  Exhaust system on the transmission cross member
  M8x25 Replace screw.	Tightening torque	19 Nm

  • Replace the screw (1).

    Parts:  Screw

  • Tighten down screw (1).

Replace the screw (1).

Tighten down screw (1).

• Tighten nut (1).

  Nut M8	Tightening torque	19 Nm

• Install the cover (2).
• Tighten the screws (1).
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
  
  

  Transmission cross member cover
  Nut	Tightening torque	3 Nm

• Install the lid (2).
• Engage the locks (1).

• Install the transmission cross member (3)  .
• Insert the screw (2)  and hand-tighten.
• Tighten down screws (1)  .

  Transmission cross member to body
  M8	tightening torque	19 Nm

• Tighten down screw (2)  .

  Transmission cross member to rubber mounts
  M12	tightening torque	68 Nm

• Release the luggage strap (1)  from the transmission.
• Remove the special tools  0 495 498 (23 4 050)  and  2 219 012  from the transmission.

• Install the cover (2)  .
• Engage the locks (1)  .
