Installing the output shaft on left and right

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
If the driven shaft is reused, the circlip must be replaced.
If the driven shaft is reused, the circlip must be replaced.
- Check the gearing of the output shaft for damage and replace damaged parts if necessary.
- Check the dust plate (1) for damage and replace if necessary.
- Replace the circlip (3)

- Coat the contact surface (2)
with approved rear differential fluid.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Radial shaft seal ring are equipped with an installation protection ring. The installation protection ring is used to protect the sealing lip when installing the output shaft.NOTE: Description is for right component only. The procedure on the left side is identical. - Insert the installation protection ring (1) and open it up.
- Feed in the output shaft (1) through the installation protection ring into the rear axle differential and tie it up with the special tool 2 413 317 .
- Pull on the lug of the installation protection ring until one of the two predetermined breaking points breaks.
- Pull out and dispose of the installation protection ring.
