- When working on the fuel system, make sure the workstation has sufficient ventilation, e.g., by means of extraction.
- Tightly seal off open lines and connections; collect any leakage fuel directly at the point of exit.
- No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

All the new delivery units are delivered in equipment specification with parked-car heating.
For these vehicles, the connection on the flange lid must be closed with a lock.
The lock must be ordered separately, refer to applicable BMW parts catalogue.

- Position snap fastener (1)
and lock.
- Position and lock the plug connection.
- Lock retaining tab (1)
in the arrow direction.
- Replace the sealing cap of the floor panel.

There is a risk of leaks if the sealing cap of the floor panel is reused.
- Coat the seal in the area (1) with lubricant (refer to applicable BMW parts catalogue).

- Lock sealing cap (1)
in place in the arrow direction up to the stop.
Mark (2) must point forwards in the driving direction.
- Close the floor in the area (1) .
