Replace the emergency battery of the telematics control module

Preliminary work

Refer to REMOVING THE COVER OF THE 3RD BRAKE LIGHT .

Loosen screw (1) .
Loosen screw (2) .
Unlock plug connection (3) and disconnect.
Release the cable clip (4) .

Release the clips (1) using the special tool 2 298 505 and position it as shown.

Lower the headliner (1) to the marked points by maximum 20 mm.
Insert the screwdriver (2) .

Unlock the lock (1) with the screwdriver (2) .
Slide the telematics control module (3) in the arrow direction and guide it out to the rear.

Open the battery compartment on the telematics control module (1) .
Feed out the emergency battery (2) out of the battery compartment.
Replace the emergency battery (2) .

Attach the telematics control module (1) to the roof antenna (4) .
Press the telematics control module (1) forward slightly so that the guides (2) align with the guides (3) . While doing sort, press in the locking pin (5) so that it is flat and position the telematics control module (1) .

Pull the telematics control module (1) in the arrow direction using the special tool 0 494 365 (51 3 252) until the interlock (2) locks correctly.
Ensure the correct fit of the telematics control module (1) .

Position the clips (1) correctly and clip them in.

Tighten down screw (1) .

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

Interference suppression filter to body
Screw	tightening torque	3 Nm

Tighten down screw (2) .

Antenna amplifier to body
Screw	tightening torque	2.50 Nm

Connect connector (3) .
Fasten the cable clip (4) .
