Removing The Front Door

WARNING: Working on 12 V electrical system.
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!

Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
Detach battery ground lead from battery.
For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Preliminary work

Refer to DEACTIVATING THE 48 V ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .

Open door.
Loosen screws (1) between both hinge elements at top and bottom.

Pull the lock (1) upwards and disconnect the plug connection.

Mechanical effects.
Paint damage.
- Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
- Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.

Secure door against closing.
Loosen screw (2) at door stop.
Detach door in upward direction and set down on a suitable surface.
