Coil Spring: Removal

- Raise and support vehicle. Remove rear wheel.
- Remove drive axle from differential. See appropriate DIFFERENTIALS & AXLE SHAFTS article in DRIVE AXLES.
- Detach panel from fuel tank in rear area.
- Remove stabilizer bar from rear axle carrier on side to be replaced.
- Unfasten bracket for brake line on trailing arm. See Figure.
- Support trailing arm with a lifter (1). Release bolt and lower lift. See Figure.
- Press wheel suspension down and remove coil spring out to one side. See Fig 1.
CAUTION:
The brake line must not be exposed to traction loads.
