Opening the locking ring

- When working on the fuel system, make sure the workstation has sufficient ventilation, e.g., by means of extraction.
- Tightly seal off open lines and connections; collect any leakage fuel directly at the point of exit.
- No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

- Open up the floor trims in the area (1)
in the arrow direction.
- Loosen plastic nuts (1) .
- Open the cover (2)

- Press snap fastener in direction of delivery unit.
- Press snap-in lugs (1) and (2) and pull snap fastener up and off.
- Disconnect plug connection (3)
.
- Set special tool 2 452 189 (1) on locking ring (2) .
- Connect special tool 0 495 554 (33 5 070) using a reversible ratchet head of 1/2 inch (3) and set it on special tool 2 452 189 .
- Release locking ring (2) in counterclockwise direction.
