CV Joint Boot (Front - All Wheel Drive Models): Installation

- Regrease constant velocity joint with fresh grease (contained in kit).
- Install boot over shaft and install new retaining ring.
- Push on joint until retaining ring can be heard to snap into place.
- Install retainers.
- Install axle shaft. See DRIVE AXLE SHAFTS (FRONT, ALL WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES) .
- Note installation position of tripod star (1). Install flat side (2) of tripod star to retaining ring. See Fig 1.
- Before pushing boot onto splined shaft, assemble boot (1) and boot adapter (2). See Fig 2.
- Regrease constant velocity joint (tripod star) with fresh grease (contained in repair kit).
- Install new retaining ring.
- Attach retainers.
- Install axle shaft. See DRIVE AXLE SHAFTS (FRONT, ALL WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLES) .
