13 62 560 Removing and installing/replacing air-mass flow sensor (M54)

Turn off ignition.

Unlock retainers (1) on intake filter housing.

Unlock plug (2) and detach from air-mass flow sensor.

Release hose clip (3).

Detach intake hose (4) from air-mass flow sensor.

Remove air-mass flow sensor.

Installation: 

Check seal (1) between air-mass flow sensor and intake filter housing for damage; replace if damaged.

To facilitate joint between air cleaner and throttle assembly, coat gasket with acid-free grease.

Installation: 

Only reinstall mass air flow sensor with undamaged lattice frame.

NOTE: Interrogate fault memory of DME control module.

Check stored fault messages.

Rectify faults.

Then clear fault memory.
