Removal With AIR Bag

- Before proceeding, follow air bag service precautions. See AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Remove air bag module. See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE .
- Ensure front wheels are in straight-ahead position. Remove steering wheel bolt. Mark steering wheel hub in relation to steering shaft for installation reference. Note how loosening steering wheel bolt activates spring/clip lock to hold contact ring in center position. See Figure . Remove steering wheel.
