Contact Ring: Removal

Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Remove air bag module. See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE . Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL .
With steering wheel removed, remove locking clip with a small screwdriver. See Fig 1 . Disconnect electrical plug, and remove nuts/screws holding contact ring to steering wheel.
