Disabling System

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Retrieve fault codes before disconnecting battery. Ensure that ignition is off. Disconnect and shield the negative battery cable. Wait at least 5 minutes for energy capacitor in the SRS control unit to discharge.
- Remove steering column lower casing cover. See Fig 1 . Remove Orange SRS connector from its holder on steering column. Disconnect Orange SRS connector. Remove glove box and disconnect both Orange SRS connectors from passenger-side air bag module. System is now disabled.
