SRS Control Unit (SRS Diagnostic Unit)

The SRS control unit is located underneath and between rear seats (under center console on Z3 and M Coupe and Roadster). SRS control unit contains an internal safety sensor. If SRS control unit safety sensor senses an impact, it applies voltage to the air bags. The SRS control unit also features a self-diagnostic system that monitors the SRS for faults. If a fault is detected, a code sets in SRS control unit memory.
