64 52 520 Removing and installing / replacing complete A/C compressor

CAUTION:
Follow instructions for compressor replacement without fail. Refer to 64 52... INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPRESSOR REPLACEMENT .
NOTE:
A/C system is drawn off. Refer to 64 50 009 DRAWING OFF, EVACUATING AND FILLING A/C SYSTEM (R 134A) .
Remove front splash guard.
Remove compressor drive belt. Refer to 11 28 050 REPLACING A/C COMPRESSOR DRIVE BELT (S54) .
M52TU, M54, M57 only:
Detach water reservoir for windshield washer system and place to one side.
Remove front splash guard.
Remove compressor drive belt. Refer to 11 28 050 REPLACING A/C COMPRESSOR DRIVE BELT (S54) .
M52TU, M54, M57 only:
Detach water reservoir for windshield washer system and place to one side.
S54 only:
Release expansion rivets (1).
Remove right air duct (2) in direction of arrow.
Installation:
Make sure lug (3) is correctly seated.
Detach coolant expansion tank and place to one side. Refer to 17 11 100 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING COOLANT EXPANSION TANK (S54) .
All:
Loosen screws (1).
Remove lines (2) and (3).
Installation:
Replace sealing rings.
Observe tightening torque, 20 Nm.
Disconnect plug connection (4) in direction of arrow.
S54 and 4WD only:
Release and lower front stabilizer bar. Refer to STABILIZER BAR .
All:
NOTE:
Secure A/C compressor (2) against falling out.
Release screws (1) and remove A/C compressor (2).
Release screws (1) and remove A/C compressor (2).
