51 11 000 Removing And Installing Complete Front Bumper (M3, M3 CSL)

Release screws (1) and expansion rivet (2) on left and right.

Installation:

If necessary, replace faulty expansion rivet.

NOTE: For removal, lever out catch (3).

Only On Right Side:

Release screw (1) for washer reservoir.

Left side:

Release screw (1) on left.

Lever out wheel arch trim (2) at side.

Lever out cap (1).

Unlock plug connections (2) and (3) and disconnect.

Remove cover (4).

Right side:

Release screws (1) and remove cover (2).

Release screws (1) on impact absorber on left/right.

Tightening torque, refer to 51 11 2AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 3-SERIES .

M3 CSL Only:

Release screws (1) on impact absorber on left/right.

Tightening torque, refer to 51 11 2AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 3-SERIES .

Pull back bumper on left a little.

Disconnect plug connection (1) on left.

IMPORTANT: First detach hose on filler neck at top - risk of damage.

NOTE: After disconnecting hoses, seal off pump outlet and hoses.

Remove hose (1).

Version With Headlight Cleaning System:

If necessary, unlock and detach hose (2).

Pull back bumper on right a little.

Detach filler hose (1) from washer fluid reservoir (2).

Installation:

If necessary, replace faulty O-ring (3).

Remove bumper.

Installation:

Height of bumper is adjusted by turning socket head cap screws (1) on impact absorber (2).

Ideal adjustment:

Gap (A) must be the same all round between bumper and body cutout.

Measurement (A) = 5 +/- 1 mm
