64 52 520 Removing and installing / replacing complete A/C compressor

Remove front splash guard. See 64 50 009 Drawing off, evacuating and filling A/C system (R 134a) 

Remove compressor drive belt. See 11 28 010 REPLACING ALTERNATOR DRIVE BELT (M52 / S52 / M52TU / M54 / M56)

M52TU, M54, M57 only: 

Detach water reservoir for windshield washer system and place to one side.

S54 only: 

Release expansion rivets (1).

Remove right air duct (2) in direction of arrow.

Installation: 

Make sure lug (3) is correctly seated.

Detach coolant expansion tank and place to one side.

All: 

Loosen screws (1).

Remove lines (2) and (3).

Installation: 

Replace sealing rings.

Observe tightening torque. Refer to TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Disconnect plug connection (4) in direction of arrow.

S54 and 4WD only: 

Release and lower front stabilizer bar.

All: 

Release screws (1) and remove A/C compressor (2).
