Removal & Installation (V12)

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 82 other vehicles, including the 2006 BMW M3, 2006 BMW 330Ci, 2006 BMW 325Ci, 2005 BMW M3, and 2005 BMW 745i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Turn ignition off. For cylinder bank 1-6, press interlock and remove connector on air filter box. See Figure. Open clips on air filter box. Unfasten hose clip from auxiliary hose for air pump. Disconnect electrical connector. Unfasten hose clip. Remove upper section of suction filter housing with mass airflow sensor. On cylinder bank 7-12, open clips on air filter box. Unfasten hose clip. Disconnect electrical connector. Remove upper section of suction filter housing with mass airflow sensor.
Disconnect plug connections No. 1 and 2 from heating valve. Pull heating valves out of rubber mounts and lay below engine. Release cable ties and lay air hose below engine. See Fig 1-Fig 5 . Using Extension (12 7 131), remove spark plugs. To install, reverse removal procedure.
