Removal & Installation (7-Series V12)

- Fill fuel tank with at least 1.2 gallons (5 L) of fuel. Draw fuel out of fuel tank. Disconnect fuel pipe with Special Tool (13 3 010) and open hose clamp. Disconnect left and right fuel level sensor connectors. See Fig 1.
- Remove propeller shaft completely. Disconnect cable. See Fig 2. Unscrew and remove dipstick tube. Remove left and right stone chip guards. See Fig 3. Remove hydraulic lines. See Fig 4. Replace fuel lines and hose clips. Remove filler hose clip and filler hose. See Fig 5. Unscrew and remove clamping straps. See Figure.
- Support fuel tank. Unfasten left and right bolts. See Fig 6. Slightly lower fuel tank and tilt it forward until lines can reach upper side of fuel tank. Loosen lines at upper left side of fuel tank. See Fig 7. Loosen ventilation line at upper side of the fuel tank. See Fig 8. Lower the fuel tank and remove downward.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Note location of rubber mount with spacer bushing. Wide collar on spacer bushing faces toward screw head. Note rubber supports at the back of fuel tank. See Fig 9. Note locating wedges with rubber cover on floor assembly. After installation of fuel tank and prior to first engine start-up, check electrical resistance between ground lug (tank filling pipe) and wheel hub. Measured value should be approximately.6 ohms.
