Removal & Installation (3-Series - E46)

- Open wire conduit on lower section of microfilter housing on cowl. Carefully feed wiring out of conduit. Remove 4 screws from microfilter housing. See Figure. Remove lower section of microfilter housing. Remove engine cover. Disconnect low pressure hose from fuel pressure regulator valve. Disconnect intake air temperature sensor connector. Disconnect fuel injector terminal strip.NOTE: Mark HO2S connectors and fuel lines for reassembly reference.
- Unclip HO2S connectors from retainers. Disconnect HO2S connectors. Remove electrical plug retainers from injection block. Release fuel system pressure See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect fuel lines at rear of cylinder head. Remove injection pipe screws. Remove injection pipe with fuel injectors.
- Remove tab washer at fuel injector. Remove fuel injectors from injection pipe. To install, reverse removal procedure. Coat injector "O" rings with petroleum jelly.
