DCS CONTROL MODULE (325xi & 330xi): Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 34 other vehicles, including the 2004 BMW M3, 2004 BMW 330xi, 2004 BMW 330i, 2004 BMW 330Ci, and 2004 BMW 325xi. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Replace hydraulic unit if damage to sealing surface (1) or contact lugs (2) is found. See Figure.
  2. Carefully push control module (1) onto hydraulic unit (2). Make sure solenoid coils are not tilted. See Fig 1.
  3. Housing edge of control module (1) must slip over shoulder on hydraulic unit (2). See Fig 2.
  4. Press control unit onto hydraulic unit and install screws (1) and (2) uniformly (do not tighten down) until unit rests evenly on hydraulic unit. Install screws (3) - (6), but do not tighten down. See Fig 3.
  5. Tighten down screws (1) - (6) in specified sequence with a torque wrench. See Fig 3. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Position plug connection vertically on control module so as to avoid damaging pins.
  7. Carry out coding for new control module, adjustment of steering angle sensor and end-of-tape test for new control module with the Diagnostic and Information System (DIS).
