- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

Damage to the instrument cluster (KOMBI) or the head unit
A ground offset can occur when releasing and connecting the cables. This can generate currents that render the instrument cluster (KOMBI) or the head unit unusable.- When releasing: First release the APIXdata cable (blue).
- When connecting: Connect the APIXdata cable (blue) last.
- Unlock and disconnect all the connectors in the marked area on the head unit (1) in the correct disassembly sequence.
- Unlock the detent (1) and remove the cable clip (2) .
- Unlock and disconnect connector (3) .
