Adjusting The Tailgate Hinges

Preliminary work 

• Refer to REMOVING THE TRIM FROM THE LEFT AND RIGHT WATER CHANNELS .

Precondition 

Convertible top compartment lid is adjusted.

Check 

• Check the gap dimensions (arrows) between trunk lid and adjacent components,

  Result 

  » The gap dimensions between the tailgate and the adjoining components do not correspond to the specifications.

  Measure

• Adjust the tailgate on the tailgate hinge.
  NOTE: Description is for left component only.
  Procedure on the right side is identical.
• Remove the cover (1).
• Slacken the screws (2) until the tailgate hinge can be shifted.
• Shift the tailgate hinge in longitudinal direction and sideways until the tailgate has the predefined gap dimensions,
• Tighten the screws (2),

  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
  
  

  Tailgate hinge to body
  M8 screw
  	Tightening torque	28 Nm
