Insert the exhaust turbocharger for the cylinders 1 to 3

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage of the electric wastegate valve controller
Excessive force when removing and installing a jammed exhaust turbocharger may damage the electric wastegate valve controller

Do not pull on the electrical wastegate valve controller or on the coupling rod
Apply force only at the turbine housing and exhaust manifold
Do not pull on the compressor housing

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
When replacing the stud bolts, they must be coated with screw locking agent (Loctite 270)

Check the stud bolts (1) for tightness

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Stud bolt on cylinder head
M7X58	tightening torque	12 Nm

Clean the sealing surfaces (1) on the cylinder head using special tool 0 495 102 (11 4 470).

Make sure that the seal (1) is correctly installed in the marked area in the cylindrical pins

Guide the exhaust turbocharger (1) into the trim strip (2) and install it
Protect the exhaust turbocharger (1) from falling

Note the installation position of the component. The component can be installed in various installation positions
Feed in and install the shifting strip (A)
The original BMW part number of the sliding rail (A) must be legible in the marked area

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Dry running due to insufficient initial filling of the exhaust turbocharger
Damage to the exhaust turbocharger

Be sure to do the initial filling when replacing the exhaust turbocharger
Fill the exhaust turbocharger with the matching additive (see applicable BMW parts catalogue)
