Remove rear bumper panel

Paint damage

Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape
Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons

Preliminary work

Refer to REMOVING LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR COVERING .
Refer to REMOVING THE LOADING EDGE TRIM .
Refer to PARTIALLY REMOVING LEFT AND RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH TRIM PANEL .
Refer to REMOVING THE TRIM FROM THE LEFT AND RIGHT WATER CHANNELS .
Refer to REMOVING THE TAIL LIGHT ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE PANEL .

Loosen screw (1)
Loosen the bumper cover (2) from the detents (3) in area of rear light housing with a suitable tool
Release the bumper cover (2) at side from the remaining detents (arrows)

Remove the bumper cover (1) by moving it straight back with the help of a support person
Unlock all plug connections and disconnect
Remove the bumper panel (1)
