Installing the tail light on the left and right side panels

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical

Install the tail light on the side panel

NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details

Check

Check seal (1) for damage, replace if necessary
Check threaded inserts (2) for damage

Result

The threaded inserts are damaged

Measure
- Replace tail light
- Contact surfaces (1) on tail light (2) must not be damaged or missing
Missing contact surfaces (1) could cause paintwork damage

Connect the connector (1) to the tail light on the side panel (2)
The connector (1) must engage audibly
Lock, the lock (3) in the arrow direction

Position tail light on the side panel (1) on the side panel (2)

Position the nut (1)

Position tail light on the side panel (1) toward the front - at top
Move the contact surfaces (2) of the tail light on the side panel (1) upwards to contact
Hold the tail light on side panel (1) in position

Tighten nut (1)

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION

Tail light to side panel
Nut M5, key range 8	Tightening torque	3 Nm

Fit the nuts (3)
Align the tail light on the side panel (1) to the connection line (2)
The alignment is done by means of threaded inserts (4) on the tail light on side panel (2)
If applicable, correct the position of the rear light on the side panel (1) by twisting the threaded inserts (4)

Tighten nuts (3)

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION

Tail light to side panel
Nut M5, key range 10	Tightening torque	4 Nm
