Installing the rear shock absorber

- Compress the shock absorber (1) and feed it into the wheel well.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Tighten the screw connection in the normal position. - Replace the nut (1) and the screw (2).
Parts: Nut, bolt
- Insert the screw (2).
- Tighten the nut (1) hand-tight.
The screw connection is tightened with the torque wrench later in the normal position.
WARNING: Car may slip off the vehicle hoist where components are supported.
Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!- Secure the vehicle hoist against lowering and lifting.
- Make sure that the vehicle does not lift off the mounting plates on the vehicle lift.
Position special tool 2 219 012 with special tools 2 411 683 and 2 305 379 under wheel carrier (1).
- Lift the wheel carrier slightly using special tool 2 219 012
. Position the shock absorber on the body in the process.
Do not press against the spring force of the coil spring.
- Replace screws (1).

Nut and locknut/self-locking nut M8x40
Replace screws.tightening torque 28 Nm - Disconnect the special tool 2 219 012
and set it aside.NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the specified component(s) is/are installed.
- Attach all the cables to holder (2).
- Connect connectors (1) and lock.
