- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

Preliminary work

- Refer to REMOVING DRIVER'S SEAT .
- Refer to FOR CONTINUING WORK ON THE FRONT SEAT: MOUNT THE FRONT SEAT ON THE UNIVERSAL SEAT MOUNT AND CONNECT WITH THE WIRING HARNESS IF NECESSARY .
- Refer to RELEASING THE GROUND CABLE OF THE SEAT OCCUPANCY MAT (CIS) .
- Refer to REMOVING THE SUPPORT FOR FRONT SEAT (CSL) .
- Refer to REMOVING THE SUPPORT FOR FRONT SEAT OF REAR SEAT BACKREST (CSL) .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT LOWER STRAP (CLS) .
- Carefully unclip the seat cover (1) in the marked area from the seat pan (2).
- Feed out and remove the cushion for the inner front seat (1) from the seat pan (2).
