Replacing the left and right radial shaft seal

NOTE:
Perform the steps on the right and left side.
Replace radial shaft seal.
- Prepare the special tool 0 490 466 (00 5 010) with the special tools 0 494 649 (21 2 230) (without the screw) and 0 493 384 (11 1 212) .
- Pull out and remove the radial shaft seal (1) with the special tools 0 490 466 (00 5 010), 0 494 649 (21 2 230), and 0 493 384 (11 1 212).
- Replace radial shaft seal (1)

Parts: Radial shaft seal
- Coat the housing of the sheet metal flange of the radial shaft seal with approved rear differential fluid.
- Strike in the radial shaft seal with the matching special tool 0 495 860 (33 5 130) or 0 495 862 (33 5 140) up to the stop.
- Remove special tool.
