Replace wheel bearings

Preliminary work
- Refer to THE INFORMATION ON THE CARBON CERAMIC BRAKE .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL .
- Refer to RELEASING THE FRONT BRAKE CALIPER .
- Refer to REMOVING FRONT BRAKE DISC .
- Release nut (1).
- Release the tension strut (2) from the swivel bearing (3).
- Use the special tool 2 472 903 or 5 A47 6E6 for unscrewing and tightening the spherical-collar screws.

Secure component against falling.

- Release the spherical-collar screws (arrows) with the standard tool (1) and special tool 5 A47 6E6 .
Standard tool: Pivoting extension 1/2 inch
Swivel extension 1/2 inch
Swivel extension 1/2 inch
- Remove the wheel bearing.
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Keep the connection between the wheel bearing and the swivel bearing clean and free of oil and grease.

- Replace the wheel bearing.
Parts: Wheel bearing
- Clean contact surfaces (1).
- Position wheel bearing on swivel bearing.
- Replace the spherical-collar screws (arrows).
Parts: Spherical-collar screw
- Tighten spherical-collar screws crosswise with standard tool (1) and special tool 5 A47 6E6
.
Standard tool: Pivoting extension 1/2 inch

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSWheel bearing to swivel bearing M12 Replace spherical collar screws.
Tighten the spherical-collar screws in crosswise sequence .
The tightening sequence must strictly be followed and carried out on all spherical-collar screws at the same time!Tightening torque 20 Nm Initial torque 140 Nm Unscrew all bolts . max. 45° Tightening torque 120 Nm Angle of rotation 90° - Position the tension strut (2) on swivel bearing (3).
- Replace nut (1).
Parts: Nut
- Tighten nut (1).
