Replacing the swivel bearing

- Loosen screws (1).
- Remove the brake guard plate (2).
- Use special tool 2 472 903 or 5 A47 6E6 for unscrewing the spherical-collar screws.
- Unscrew the spherical-collar screws (arrows).
- Remove the wheel bearing (1).
- Recut the thread in the wheel bearing (1).
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Keep the connection between the wheel bearing and the swivel bearing clean and free of oil and grease.

- Replace swivel bearing (1).
Parts: Swivel bearing
- Clean the contact surfaces (2) on the swivel bearing (1) and the wheel bearing (3).
- Replace the stud bolt (4).

- Screw in the stud bolts (4) and tighten them.TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Stud bolt to swivel bearing M12 Replace the stud bolt. Tightening torque 20 Nm - Position the wheel bearing (1) on the new swivel bearing.
- Replace the spherical-collar screws (arrows).

- Tighten the spherical-collar screws (arrows).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Wheel bearing to swivel bearing M12 Replace spherical collar screws. Tighten the spherical-collar screws in crosswise sequence .
The tightening sequence must strictly be followed and carried out on all spherical-collar screws at the same time!Tightening torque 20 Nm Initial torque 140 Nm Unscrew all bolts . max. 45° Tightening torque 120 Nm Angle of rotation 90° - Position the brake guard plate (2).
- Replace screws (1).
