Install the wiring harness section of the transmission wiring harness

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Improper routing of cables and wiring harnesses .
Trapped, crushed or damaged cables may cause short circuits and malfunctions .

Route all cables without abrasions, do not trap and crush.

Insert and install the wiring harness (1) for the transmission module.

Connect connector (1) to the gear sensor and lock it.
The connector (1) must engage audibly.

Fastening the transmission
Lift the transmission cross member (1) with the transmission in the installation position.
Tighten down screws (2) .

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Transmission cross member to body
M8	tightening torque	19 Nm

Loosening the luggage strap (1) .
Remove special tools 2 219 012 and 0 495 498 (23 4 050) .

Install the ground strap.
Tighten down screw (1) .

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Ground strap to transmission or body
M8	tightening torque	19 Nm

Install the bearing journal (1) in arrow direction.
Lock the fuses (2) in arrow direction.

Hook the gearshift rod (1) in arrow direction into the gearshift rod joint (3) .
Insert retaining clip (2) .

Replace screws (1) .
Parts: Screws
Install the clutch slave cylinder (2) with the holder (3) .
Insert screws (1) and tighten.

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Clutch slave cylinder to clutch housing/transmission housing
M8 x 25 Replace screws.	Tightening Torque	19 Nm

Position the holder (2) .
Tighten the screws (1) .

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Holder on transmission cross member
Hexagon bolt for thermoplastic	Tightening torque	2.5 Nm

Attach the connector (2) in arrow direction to the holder (3) and lock it.
The lock (1) must engage audibly.

Feed in and install the wiring harness section (4) of the transmission wiring harness into the holder (arrow).
Secure the clamp (3) .
Connect and lock connectors (1) and (2) .
The connectors (1) and (2) engage audibly.

Insert and install the cover (2) .
Ensure that all locks (1) engage audibly.

Make sure that the lock (2) engages correctly.
Tighten down screws (1) .

Cable bracket on rear cylinder head/transmission
M6 x 20	tightening torque	8 Nm
