Checking the hydraulic fluid level of the hydraulic unit of the convertible top drive

Precondition

The convertible top was completely opened and closed 2 times.

The convertible top is closed.

Remove luggage compartment floor covering

Remove the luggage compartment floor covering (1).

Removing the loading edge trim
Loosen the expanding rivet (1).
Unclip the loading edge trim from the clamps upwards.
Feed out the loading edge trim at the tailgate seal and remove.

Remove trunk compartment light
Unclip luggage compartment lamp (1) with special tool 0 490 539 (00 9 322) .

Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Removing the upper luggage compartment trim panels
Loosen the expanding rivet (1).
Remove the luggage compartment trim panel (2) by pushing it downwards.

Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Remove luggage compartment trim panel (2).

Remove right luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel.
Unclip the emergency unlocking (1) of the convertible top compartment lid from the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel (4).
Detach the cable (2).
Release the expanding rivet (3).
Feed out the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel (4) towards the inner side.
If necessary, unlock and disconnect the existing plug connection and remove the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel (4).

Guide out hydraulic unit (1) and place it in the cargo area.

Remove retaining strap (1).
Remove the control unit (2).

Check
- Store the hydraulic unit (1) level.
- Open and close convertible top at least 2 times.
- With the convertible top closed, check if the oil level is within the mark on fluid tank (2).

Result

» Oil level outside of the mark (2).

Measure
- Open lid (3) and correct the oil level.
Position coating (2) made of foam material.
Attach adhesive tapes (1).

Position control unit (2).
Attach retaining strap (1).

Guide in and position hydraulic unit (1).

Install luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel on right
Install the center armrest and connect any lock any connectors present.
Correctly position the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel.
Mount the expanding rivets (3).
Attach the cable.
Clip- the luggage compartment in the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel.

Installing the top luggage compartment trim panel
Install the decorative strip.
Connect connectors (1) and lock.

Connect connectors (1) and lock.

Installing loading edge trim

NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
Check clamp (1) for damage.
Defective or missing clamps (1) need to be replaced.

Feed the loading edge trim (2) into the tailgate seal.
Fit the trim of the loading edge (2) at the detents (3) and clip it in to the bottom.
Secure expanding rivet (1).
