- After completion of repair work, check the transmission oil level in the rear axle differential.
- Use only the approved final drive transmission oil.
- It is not possible to check the oil level in the rear axle differential. It is imperative that the oil is drained from the rear axle differential and refilled with a previously measured oil quantity.
Draining the rear differential fluid

- Place oil collecting apparatus underneath.
- Release the oil filler plug (1).
- Drain and dispose of the rear differential fluid.
- Replace (1) screw plug.

- Tighten the oil filler plug (1).
TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Topping up the rear differential fluid
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Rear differential fluid must be shaken (mixed) prior to use so that the additive distributes evenly in the oil.
Filling capacity for the rear axle differential must be observed!
Filling up to the lower edge of the oil filler opening would overfill the rear axle differential.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
It is imperative to ensure that there is no air in the hose when topping up a defined (measured) oil quantity.

- Use special tool 2 460 340 for topping up.
- To top up a defined (measured) oil quantity, first fill hose (1) with oil. To do this, connect adapter (2).
