Removing the pneumatic seat mat of the backrest

- Removing side airbag from front seat.WARNING:
Airbag unit.
Danger! Immobilization period-threatening injuries!
- Before working on the airbag, disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

- All work on pyrotechnic parts may be carried out by technically experienced and appropriately trained personnel only.
- Replace any damaged part or ones that have been dropped.

- Detach the backrest cover (1) in signaled area.
- Loosen clip (1).
- Detach the backrest cover (2) in this area (3).
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Cover the area around the rivet head (2).
- Drill out the rivet head (2).
- Remove the airbag module from the backrest frame and lining pocket (3) in the direction of the arrow.
- Fully remove rivet remnants.
- Refer to REMOVING THE BACKREST COVER WITH THE UPHOLSTERY FOR THE FRONT SEAT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE SEAT COVER WITH THE CUSHION FOR THE FRONT SEAT .
- Press the clutch (1) together at the marked points and pull apart the lines (2) by gently shifting them up and down.
- Loosen the hose support (3).
- Remove the hoses (4) towards the rear.
- Loosen the clips (1).
- Detach lugs (2).
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Unlock and disconnect the hose connection (2).
- Loosen the cable clip (3).
- Remove the pneumatic seat mat including the associated control unit (4).
