Remove the electric wastegate valve actuator

WARNING: Hot surfaces.
Risk of burning!
  • Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.
NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE 
Electrostatic discharge  .
Damage to or destruction of electrical components  .
  • Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
  • Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
  • Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
  • Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION 
Rattling noises in the engine compartment  are caused due to increased play in the linkage of the wastegate valve controller.
To eliminate the rattling noises, a repair kit 5A7A286 for the wastegate linkage with a modified spring and an additional spacer sleeve can be ordered from the applicable BMW parts catalogue.
It is not necessary to replace the entire electrical wastegate valve controller  .
NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION 
When replacing the electrical wastegate valve controller, the current revision index must be ensured. If necessary, repair kit 5A7A286 (spacer sleeve, spring, retaining clip) must also be ordered.
NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION 
The optimized repair kit for the electrical wastegate valve controller includes a modified spring and an additional spacer sleeve  .
All the components of the repair kit must be installed  .
