Touching Up Paintwork Damage
Notes apply to paint damage on body aperture resulting from cutting out bonded window panes.
To ensure long-term corrosion protection, paintwork damage must always be repaired!
Grind out paintwork damage on body aperture and repair with BMW multi-primer filler.
Sand down large-scale damage down to the bare metal and coat with BMW multi-primer filler (coat thickness 30 to 40 μm).
Curing time:
- with infrared for at least 10 minutes
- without infrared at least 60°C for at least 30 minutes
- without infrared at least 20°C for at least 24 hours
If a complete paint system is required in the visible area:
- Mask off primed adhesive flange before applying top coat
Attention!
Observe curing time of BMW multi-primer filler, otherwise proper bonding is not guaranteed!
