Releasing the left or right output shaft from the rear axle differential

Detach the output shaft from the rear axle differential

Different variants may be installed depending on the vehicle equipment.

- Position the special tool described below at the circular groove (1) of the output shaft.
- Position the special tool 0 495 851 (33 5 120) with a suitable special tool 0 495 856 (33 5 124), 0 496 765 (33 5 126), 0 496 862 or 2 360 787 on the output shaft depending on its equipment specification.
- Support the special tool 0 495 851 (33 5 120)
with a standard tool (1) and press the output shaft out jerkily from the rear axle differential.
