Inserting the left or right output shaft in the rear axle differential

NOTE:
Description is for right component only. The procedure on the left side is identical.
Feeding the output shaft into the rear axle differential
- Fold open the assembly protection ring (1).
- Turn the rear axle differential (1) with the special tool 0 496 009 (33 5 200)
to the left. While doing so feed in the output shaft (2).
- Pull on the lug of the installation protection ring (1) until one of the two predetermined breaking points breaks.
- Pull out and dispose of the installation protection ring).
