Installing the door sill cover strip on the rear left and right

Install the rear door sill cover strip 

• Version A with basic seat: 

  Remove clips remaining in the body (1) and mount them on the door sill cover strip (3).

  Check whether the clips (1) and guide (2) are present and have damage; replace if necessary.

• Version A with basic seat: 

  Position the rear door sill cover strip (2) on the body.

  Engage rear door sill cover strip (2) on the clips (3).

  Tighten down screws (1).

  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Door sill cover strip to body
  Screw 4.8x16	Tightening torque	1.4 Nm

• Version B with electric seat: 

  Check whether the snap-in lugs (1) are present and have damage.

  Damaged or missing snap-in lugs (1) must be replaced.

• Version B with electric seat: 

  Position the rear door sill cover strip (2) on the body.

  Engage the rear door sill cover strip (2) on the detents (3).

  Tighten down screws (1).

  TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION

  Screw 4.8x16	Tightening torque	1.4 Nm

  Installing the illuminated sill trim on the rear door sill 

  NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE 
  Bending of plastic components. 
  Application of too much force can lead to bending of plastic components. 

  • Place special tool directly beside the mounting clip.
  • Continue unclipping the part without using the tool if possible.
  NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
• Version A: 

  Check the detents (2) for damage, if necessary replace the illuminated sill trim (1).

  Mount the illuminated sill trim (1) and connect and lock the connector while doing so.

  Position the illuminated sill trim (1) and lock on the detentes (2).

• Version B: 

  Check the detents (2) for damage, if necessary replace the illuminated sill trim (1).

  Mount the illuminated sill trim (1) and connect and lock the connector while doing so.

  Position the illuminated sill trim (1) and lock on the detentes (2).
