Partly removing left and right luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel

NOTE: Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.

Partly remove luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel on left

Loosen expanding rivet (1).
Unclip the emergency release (3) and detach the Bowden cable (4).
Feed out the left luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel (2) under the sealing lip of the seal for the trunk lid.

Removing the emergency release handle for the tailgate:

NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.

Loosen the emergency release handle (1) for the tailgate from the holder.
Detach the Bowden cable (2) and remove the emergency release handle (1) for the tailgate.
