Removing the clutch master cylinder

- Note and follow safety instructions on containers.
- Conduct all work in appropriate personal protective equipment only.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE COVER OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AT THE REAR LEFT .
- Refer to REMOVING THE TRIM PANEL FOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY .
- Draw off brake fluid up to supply hose (2) of clutch hydraulic system.
To do this, use a suction lifter that is only used to draw off the brake fluid.
- Detach the supply hose (2) from the expansion tank (1).
- Detach clamp (1) using a screwdriver.
Protect the carpet with suitable agents from contamination with brake fluid.
- Detach hydraulic line (2) from clutch master cylinder (3).
- Detach supply hose (1) from clutch master cylinder (2).
Do not pull the supply hose (1) fully in the vehicle interior.
- Lever out the clutch switch (1) from the clutch master cylinder (2) with the screwdriver in arrow direction.
- Disconnect plug connection (4) and disconnect connector (3) from clutch switch (1).
- Turn bolt (1) through 90° counterclockwise.
Lug (arrow) is turned after this through 90° counterclockwise.
- Remove bolt (1).
- Remove clutch master cylinder (3) from clutch pedal (2).
- Turn bolt (1) through 90° counterclockwise.
Lugs (arrow) are turned after this through 90° counterclockwise.
- Remove bolt (1).
- Remove the clutch master cylinder (2).
