→ Partly remove luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel on left

- Loosen the expanding rivet (1)
- Press luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel lug (2) on the outer side of the hinge forwards over the stop on the trim (1)
- Feed out the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel (2) under the sealing lip of the seal for the trunk lid
→ Partially remove the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel on the right

→ Removing the emergency release handle for the tailgate (additional work for US version)

- Loosen the emergency release handle (1) for the tailgate from the holder
- Detach the Bowden cable (2) and remove the emergency release handle (1) for the tailgate
- Loosen the expanding rivet (1)
- Press luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel lug (2) on the outer side of the hinge forwards over the stop on the trim (1)
- Feed out the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel (2) under the sealing lip of the seal for the trunk lid
