Remove the electric wastegate valve actuator

- Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.

- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Rattling noises in the engine compartment are caused due to increased play in the linkage of the wastegate valve controller.
To eliminate the rattling noises, a repair kit 5A7A286 for the wastegate linkage with a modified spring and an additional spacer sleeve can be ordered from the applicable BMW parts catalogue.
It is not necessary to replace the entire electrical wastegate valve controller .

- Have the special tool 2 469 240
ready.
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Observe the installation position of the spring (1).
- Feed out the retaining clip (2) with a commercially available tool (3) and remove it.
- Release screws (1) with the special tool 2 469 240
.
- Feed out the control rod (1) carefully
from the pin (3) of the turbocharger (2) and set it aside.
Avoid any effect of a lateral force on the control rod (1).
- Feed out and remove the spring (1).
- Feed out and remove the electrical wastegate valve controller (1).
