Removing the support for the rear bumper cover

- Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
- Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR COVERING .
- Refer to REMOVING THE LOADING EDGE TRIM .
- Refer to PARTIALLY REMOVING LEFT AND RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH TRIM PANEL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE TRIM FROM THE LEFT AND RIGHT WATER CHANNELS .
- Refer to REMOVING THE TAIL LIGHT ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE PANEL .
- Refer to REMOVING REAR BUMPER PANEL .
- Loosen screws (1).
- Release expanding rivet (1) and remove the brace for the rear bumper (2).NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.
- Loosen nut (2).
- Remove the rear silencer with holder (1) downwards off the support for the rear bumper cover.
- Loosen nuts (1).
- Remove the support for the rear bumper cover (2).
